"It was lovely. It was quiet and away from people, v close to local amenities and sites. The WiFi is spotty but that is no criticism, it was great to know i could just read a book without constantly checking my screen. Will definitely come again."

"We loved the colourful, quirky decor and the fantastic food. It's very convenient for Bingham station and Bingham is a good base for exploring the Vale of Belvoir. Very relaxing and friendly. The staff couldn't have been more helpful - really nice people. The room was really pretty and well appointed with kettle etc."

"A diamond in the rough, quiet village with a hidden gem. Great staff with accessible dining and pub. Would recommend to anyone who wants an out of the way stay."

"We really enjoyed staying at forest lodge. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed in the bar area. Staff were welcoming and kind and friendly. A lady gave us a free bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate our anniversary. Sitting in the bar having a meal and a drink was one of my highlights on our break. Some of the hotels main procedures cause them a bit of difficulty. For instance asking everyone for photo ID at check in- if this needs to be done it could be done at booking. Also...

"31 Castle Gate gave us a very clean and comfortable 2 night stay . Private and quiet accommodation clear instruction re parking facilities. Easy access to shops, cafe and relaxing meal/ drink in the evening sat by the canal. Initial access wasn't granted by the code given but a very quickly answered call gave us access for the stay. Thank you to Daniel - very helpful and he also checked in with us to make sure access was ok . Would use the accommodation again . "

"There was some confusion regarding the “breakfasts included” part of my booking on arrival. Reception paperwork indicated “room only”. I was asked to provide evidence and it was only due to me forwarding a screenshot to my partner showing bed & breakfast included, that fortunately I was believed. We had to change rooms due to a damp, musty odour in the initial room but were offered an alternative, which was much better. Highly recommend the Gluten Free options at breakfast. "Tumbleweed Cottage is a beautiful hidden jem that myself and Kay will be visiting frequently for many years to come , Shaan and Sef made us feel so welcome and so comfortable with our stay we wished we could've booked for longer, The Rooms are beautiful with fabulous views of the garden . Breakfast was amazing and Sef's fresh summer fruit yoghurts are just scrumptious, We will be back again with our children (dogs) and walk through the village, May the Force be with You "

"Large room with all you’d need for a short stay, but no frills. The decor is a quite bleak. Value for money with the real bonus of private parking and a short drive from the centre of Newark or access the bi-monthly antiques fair at the showground. Excellent Indian restaurant right on the doorstep. "
