The room was clean. The AC worked really well. The hot tub was clean but not working. The pool was dirty. They are renovating the property so I am hoping next time it will be up to date. Staff was nice and helpful.

The room was so Satisfying it was vkean and it snelled wonderful. The staff Mrs. Nurvina was ever so helpfull n so inviting as in she nade us feel comfortable and was very helpful. Ill definately recommend and stay at Windwater at South Padre island again n everytime I ho to the Island.

Nice cold room, modern updates, however a bit of rust in the bathroom. Also a lot of noise when trying to fall asleep a little early 9ish, but it wasnt all night. Staff was kind, when asking for a preferred first floor, she was accommodating. Oh, and the blues in decoration were nice.

Love the price and the fishing. Been using this for a cheap getaway for at least 15 yrs. Great for a quick shower and rest after a long beach/fishing day but....Jacuzzi never works, roaches almost always come out late night especially if you leave food out. Remotes for TV usually fail and have to be replaced. They have made improvements recently though. TV upgraded to roku added boat storage and added/improved 2 fishing docks

It was spring break weekend, so the area was extremely loud at night too much partying outside screaming yelling fighting I really don’t know how the property is if it wasn’t spring break but my spring break weekend was horrible. My room was nice. It had water view. Staff was OK.

Our room smelled clean when we got there. Bedsheets and towels were clean. However, it's a very old room and could use a deep renovation. Only the floors look to have been updated. The curtains actually had mold spots on them by the window AC. Door was very old and damaged, bathroom door was also split in two damaged. Shower head needs descaling, water sprays outside. The hair dryer was fried, melted, didn't look safe to use. Old fridge and table rusted. Some outlets didn't work. The sink drain smelled very bad of sewer. Bed was not comfortable for me. Just over all, the property needs maintenance. But we needed somewhere cheap to spend the night and this was what we went with. I've stayed here before in better rooms, but I'm guessing not all of them are updated, this one was definitely not.

Although this was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced, I want to recognize the front desk staff. During my stay, I interacted with three different employees, and all three were friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. They were easily the best part of the property, along with the location itself. I understand the challenges of operating a hospitality business on South Padre Island, and I usually give some grace when it comes to maintenance issues. However, the condition of this property goes far beyond normal wear and tear. The hotel was noticeably dirty, and much of the mechanical, cosmetic, and general upkeep appeared to have been done as cheaply as possible. The overall condition suggests a long-term lack of proper maintenance and oversight. Many areas felt neglected, and some conditions raised legitimate safety concerns. The low room rates may seem appealing, but they appear to reflect the actual condition of the property. Unfortunately, the guest experience suffers as a result. To the owners: this property has tremendous potential because of its location. If you are not fully aware of its current condition, I hope this review serves as a wake-up call. With better management, proper maintenance, and higher standards, this could be a place people are excited to return to rather than relieved to leave. (I can help. Contact me if interested.)

Our stay was unfortunately disappointing. The property itself looks very outdated, and the room did not feel as clean as expected. When we first walked in, there was a very strong chemical smell that lingered for a while. We also noticed dirty windows and a mirror that hadn’t been properly cleaned. The bathroom was another concern, as we found a small roach during our stay. In addition, the mini fridge in our room was broken, which was inconvenient. The staff was somewhat helpful when we needed assistance, but our check-in experience left a bad first impression. We arrived early to ask if an early check-in was available, and instead of simply telling us it wasn’t, we were spoken to rudely and repeatedly told that check-in was at 3:00 PM. We completely understand if early check-in isn’t possible, but there are much more professional ways to communicate that. The one highlight of our stay was the balcony, which had a nice view and was the best part of the room. Overall, while the location and balcony were enjoyable, the cleanliness, maintenance issues, and customer service would make us think twice before staying here again.
