Check in went great and parking was on property and easy. Close to Wurzburg and dinner was excellent. The area is ver nice. Be careful that you don’t try taking a large vehicle down the street a block below the Main Street. Great decorations throughout and very comfortable beds and nice rooms.

Love old-town based hotel. Super friendly personnel, also to our large dog. Breakfast had all the basics present (don't expect an English breakfast), but also here, super friendly! Restaurant was closed, but plentiful options nearby. Also near the lake by a 5 minute strawl. Also got a free upgrade of the room, but mostly due to the dog (no carpet) - but lovely non the less. Recommending the hotel, and would definitely visit another time!

A nice family run hotel in a charming quiet medevial Franconian village along the Main River with vinyards on the hills above. Seems to have been fairly recently renovated. Friendly English speaking staff. We were able to upgrade our room to a much larger room. The busy hotel restaurant is the big draw here and we ate breakfast (included buffet) and dinner there 3 times. Many good quality food choices. We spoke to a young professional couple at the table next to us and they come to this hotel restaurant for dinner from 10 miles away on a monthly basis so that says something. After staying 3 nights in Wertheim we moved our base to this hotel to cover other areas including visiting: Wurzburg, Rothenburg, Iphofen (restaurant: Kulinarium), and other surrounding area towns. Easy 10 minute drive to main highway. The hotel has a courtyard with parking for a fee but we parked for free 5 minutes down the street along the Main River and enjoyed watching the ships on the river and walking through the old town. Typical Franconian dish we would recommend trying is "Schaufele" which is tender and delicious pork shoulder.

Very intresting hotel, right in the center of the village. The room was good, clean, basic furniture. But the joke was that there were no curtains on the bathroom windows which are on the street side. Hahaha but inconvenient. Sadly when we came to the hotel the restaurant was closed for dinner which was ashame as the place looked really nice. So we went to a restaurant across the road which is more a wine cellar. The food was amasing. So it all worked out well. The village is unusual surrounded by a massive wall and it has many old entry gates which were really cool. You can imagine life in the village in the olden ages.

We enjoyed a one night stay on a Wednesday evening during our driving trip in the area. If you cannot obtain one of the free parking spots, there is free parking a block or two away in a parking area by the river. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We received breakfast with our stay and decided to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant as we were tired from driving. It was a great choice for both meals. The dinner menu was extensive with vegetarian, meat and fish meals plus many drink options, including local beers and wines. The restaurant was popular at night and we waited around 15-20 minutes for a table (did not have a reservation, but we were seated as quickly as they could manage). No complaints at all from us on dining experiences. Breakfast was well done and good quality with an assortment of yogurts, toppings, breads, cheeses, eggs, meats, cereals and vegetables. The area was going through higher temperatures during our stay, but the room had windows which could be opened and also a small table top fan. We were on the second floor and it was warm at night; however, it is no fault of the hotel as they did they best they could with the building. We also knew to not expect central air conditioning so we were prepared. Also, the hotel is pet friendly as several guests had dogs with them which we don’t mind at all. Overall, we had a wonderful overnight stay and would highly recommend the hotel to anyone driving through or staying for longer.

Dejligt ophold ☺️

Vi havde en enkelt overnatning på vores vej længere sydpå. Vi havde et værelse som nærmest minder mere om en lejlighed, virkelig smukt og lækkert nyt. Dejligt hotel i de smukkeste omgivelser, den gamle del af Sommerhausen er magisk. Vi nød vores korte ophold meget :)

Nydelig, lite gasthaus i sjarmerende liten landsby

Nydelig, lite gasthaus i en sjarmende liten landsby. Meget hyggelig restaurant på stedet med god mat og hyggelig servitører. Servering både ute og inne. Frokosten hadde akkurat det vi trengte ( samboer gir minus for ingen bacon😅 ) Hadde en overnatting her på vei til Kroatia. Rimelig pris som inkluderte frokost. Minus for ingen aircondition, men gikk greit med vifte på rommet til tross for 32 grader ute.

Een leuk hotel met nette kamers en vriendelijk personeel midden in het (kleine) centrum van Sommerhausen. In het restaurant kun je heerlijk (italiaans) eten en de wijnliefhebber komt in Sommerhausen zeker aan zijn/haar trekken.

Bättre förra gången

Bodde på detta hotell för 2 år sedan och blev väl omhändertagen. Denna gång var inte lika bra. Utlovad laddplats till el bil fick vi inte tillgång till trots att den var ledig hela natten. Restaurangen kändes underbemannad och frukosten ok men inte mer. Ok för genomresa, men inte mer.

Zustand TOP! Nicht zur Hauptstrasse schlafen

Vor dem Checkin war es schwer den Parkplat des Hotels zu finden. Eine Auffällige Beschilderung am Haus wäre hilfreich. Das Zimmer war nach vorne zur Hauptstrasse mit Kopfsteinpflaster. Ab 5 Uhr früh war an Schlaf nicht mehr zu denken da die Autos vorbeifuhren. Empfang sehr nett und freundlich. Frühstück i.O.
