"This was our first time at the Ryder hotel. It was located very conveniently in downtown Charleston. The staff was very friendly however, when we were by the pool, the service there was somewhat spotty. Often times staff would just ignore anyone who was sitting at a table and not offer them a drink. The pool was nice to have on a hot day however, it was very murky and cloudy looking. Not sure how often they check for chemical balance. Both my husband and I felt very itchy after being in the pool...

"I would rate this property higher if I could! Everyone there was fantastic, but I have to say that the manager Shutti, was the absolute best! We had a few mishaps when we first got to Charleston and she got us all cozy and comfy in a beautiful suite! Also, the shopping is incredible, not only in the hotel but the many stores on King Street! I will be going back! Great place for a girls trip! It’s what I’ve always dreamed Charleston would be like."

"I really enjoyed staying here. A friend and I stayed here for a girls trip. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable (which is a big plus for me) and the location was great. The only complaint I have is the man who we spoke to at checkout didn't look or act like he enjoyed his job. He was rude to us on 2 occasions. There was another young boy that was great, very kind, and upbeat attitude. Other than the rude man, I'll definitely go back!"

"French hospitality was the best I have ever experienced including Paris. Champagne upon arrival, Sherry and homemade pastry in the afternoons and milk and cookies in the evening. "Very, very nice property. Would definitely stay again. Docked a star because of the constant logistic / admin mishaps. IT issues delayed check in for over a dozen guests, long line getting into rooms. The parking gate constantly gave errors causing lines getting out of the lot with no resolution other than going back to the desk, which was a nightmare for all cars in line. Well earned 4/5 because the hotel, amenities, and location are top notch - just a few technical kinks."
