"Eberbach, Germany is a truly quaint & authentic village. And the hotel continues this time gone by atmosphere. I happened to be traveling thru on a Saturday night & the restaurant was full of locals laughing, talking & celebrating. And the food was authentic and delicious... dinner was great & the "free" breakfast was even better! Also best cup of coffee in a while. They take pride in everything. Even though I spoke NO German, they were patient when I used my translator. If I didn't have to be somewhere. I would have enjoyed staying another day to explore. I Will go back!
Note: I have to put that the location is not convenient, not because it was not worth it, but because it in nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains with a beautiful river flowing thru the middle, splitting the village in 2. So you have to wind down some mountain roads if coming in from the south (which I did). East and West follow the river & no access from the North. But in town it was convenient, but unless you like a hard walk (still very steep hills), I would explore with the car 1st, then choose your walking area... the river area, the woodland park in the town, the arts & crafts area, etc."
"The hotel is in an excellent location for exploring Heidelberg’s historic centre. Restaurants, cafes, shopping, main historic sites are all in close walking proximity. Our room happened to be very large. Room and bathroom were very clean however the carpet was stained and furnishings are quite dated. The breakfast good with lots of variety."
"This is my second stay at this gem of a hotel. It is ridiculous how much I love it. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully laid out. A better shower you will not find in all of Europe (great water pressure, beautiful fixtures, instantaneous hot water). The staff are friendly and efficient. It is located in the city center and if you are a runner, you are less than a third of a mile from a fabulous (mostly flat) river trail that goes miles in either direction. I stay here when visiting friends who have small children and would be overcome by guests staying over. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from them - so, you know, perfect, for my purposes.
The hotel offers tremendous value for money. I am always surprised at the price as the amenities are absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended!"
