"I never saw an image of the exterior of the building in the advertisement on Expedia. I never read that access to the upper floor was via a steep staircase which made carrying two suitcases to one’s room difficult. The place appears to be managed by the Wat Hotel next door but without access to the Wat’s facilities. The walls between the rooms were such that one could plainly hear conversations next door. The room was fine but the experience frankly disappointing."

"This was my favorite accommodation in Japan. It was very cozy and made me feel home. We had the Sennari room. There were 4 beds in two rooms but we only used two. There was a microwave, fridge, kitchen sink with dishes/soap, washer/dryer, kitchen table, sofa. It was two levels with bedrooms upstairs. We never saw our host. It was self check in with a code. "We really enjoyed our stay at SOKI Kanazawa. The location was perfect, right across from Omicho Market and easy to walk to Kenrokuen Garden, the castle, and the geisha district. We also loved the Japanese-style beds. It was a different experience for us and actually so comfortable! The only thing we didn’t love was that our rooms were on different floors, since we were traveling as a family. Other than that, we had a really nice stay and would definitely recommend it."

"Room clean. Big department stores with good basement fresh food market nearby. Easy walking distances to Kenroku-en and samurai, geisha districts. Unlike other hotels I have stayed, this hotel does not offer free breakfasts. I need to pay ¥2750 for each breakfast. There aren’t as many variety of food offered as in my free breakfasts in other hotels; so I just tried once and went to eat breakfast somewhere else."
