"All excellent"

"It is an old building, so keep that in mind. When you use the shower it is hard to keep the water contained to the bath so I think there may be a little water damage or mold in floor boards from that. But other than that it is a beautiful location, quiet area for the city, helpful staff, and large, LARGE spacious rooms. Overall a good stay but I think there was mold or just dust because my allergies kicked in really bad in this room."

"I had no interaction with any staff. I did online check-in. When the room is ready, a code is sent by email gave access to keys, which was about 90mins prior to the official check-in time of 3pm. It is a very effective and efficient process, which is definitely a bonus if it is busy at reception. The hotel is very modern and is super clean. The decor and furnishings are finished to a high standard. I never had breakfast and used express checkout. There are staff at reception if needed. I would...

"Clean apartment with two full baths. Cute building with charm and lift was useful for getting to second floor. Free Parking right behind building. A little tricky to find parking structure since it is a little driveway literally in the middle of the block, but once found very convenient. Apartment clean and comfy. Doors to rooms and bathroom a big heavy so a little cumbersome to hold open, a door stop may help. Also, some street noise at night so if you are a light sleepy you may need earbuds....

"What I liked: Very friendly and helpful staff, the free laundry room, huge breakfast (but pricey). What I did not care for: too dark rooms with limited lighting, making it hard to see inside luggage, too dark halls, warm but not hot shower water, non-user friendly thermostat with no handy instructions, half-hearted toilet flushing, tricky TV streaming connections, not easy to use the stairs if one prefers to skip the very slow (1) elevator."

"The Clayton has an excellent location within easy walking distance to Edinbourg's attractions, the Castle etc. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. As seems to be common in European hotels the room was small but still very comfortable. The bathroom while spotless and modern was very small and it was like a sauna after taking a shower which was quite uncomfortable. The hotel does not have any parking. It has a discount arrangement with a parking garage which was nice but...
