"Was a bit disappointed with our stay here. I’d read that the rooms were a bit dated, but it was rundown in aspects as well. The window in our bathroom had a broken hinge, the towels were old and tattered, the faucet discoloured, but the worst part was the bugs in the room. There was an ant (?) infestation - they’d burrowed a few holes into the bathroom doorframe and they were coming in and out of them and we found them in various places around the room. There were other various bugs we found...

"The Sunset Shack was fantastic for our family trip to Nosara. The beach is super close, and the town is very cute. We were right in the middle of it all. Monkeys in the mango trees on the property in the morning, and iguanas roaming all day. The food, the staff, and the hotel itself were all 5 stars! "For the money, ESH is a great deal. Very upscale, quiet, and the entire staff will accommodate every need or request at all times. It’s not on the coast, but rather up the hill about 5 minutes from town and the beach. Town is a happening place whereas ESH is simply peaceful. Best of both worlds. "
