"Great place to stay! Very convenient to everything on State Street. We loved the property, the ambience, and the overall experience. Would definitely stay again!"
"Not a great location. Too close to interstate so air is polluted and it’s noisy. Interior design and choice of colors is distressing. Grey, dark red ,dark wood tones which makes everything look unclean and unhappy. Needs a refresh to get a recommendation Nice interior courtyard but something about the property was off and uninspiring. "
"The onsite parking spaces was greatly appreciated. Maybe it is hard to find a space at certain times of the year but there were lots of spaces when we were there in May.
It is a very pleasant neighborhood to walk with State St only a couple of blocks away and Carrillo just a few blocks more down De La Vina to the south.
The lobby and the adjoining sitting room/library with its beautiful fireplace is a wonderful place to spend some quiet time.
The restaurant is not up to the caliber of the hotel. Their menu is very unexciting and it would be nice if breakfast was served at such a quality hotel."
"The bed was comfy with nice linens. Loved the ample counter spaces, the nice open shower with plenty of room, loved the shuttered windows, the staff is super friendly and helpful, also there’s plenty of parking. Love the Spanish motif and beautiful tile work. Great location not far from beach. Definitely would stay here again."
"Terrible for the price they charged. I paid $400 for my room! When my husband was ready to turn into the parking lot, I told him no, because I thought we came to the wrong property. I just didn’t expect $400 would get me a pathetic motel room. That was exactly what it was: an old motel. It’s no difference from Motel 6, I suppose. Each room faces the hallway with absolutely no privacy. My room was old, dark, with old carpet. The bathroom was so small that the vanity has no cabinets under. It’s a triangle room that would make one feel claustrophobic.
Worst was the paper-thin wall. At 10:00 p.m., our Nextdoor neighbors were talking loudly right outside the hallway. The noise woke me up, and they continued talking loudly till past 1:30a. m. I heard many distinct voices there, like 4-5 adults and then plus children.
My room does not have traditional AC, but one of those portable one with tube going through the window. It was loud and so we had to shut it off at night and yet we can’t open the window due to noises outside. A restless night for me after I spent $400, and found out that I was bitten by something when I woke up early in the morning( I didn’t put my luggage on the bed so it wasn’t from us).
Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Don’t trust the walking distance posted on Expedia. Used my Google map and the walking distances of everything are about 40 percent more than they describe. No restaurant and no market nearby. It’s a residential area "
