"Fantastic location, easy walking to the Aquarium, Cannery Row, and the beach! We brought our golden retriever with us and appreciated how dog-friendly they are! Free breakfast was great and the parking garage made parking very convenient."

"Pretty nice stay overall. Front desk staff are efficient and friendly. There are a few cosmetic things that could be fixed but the overall room is nice. Comfortable bed and a good size to the room (booked oversized room). Breakfast was good but gets very busy so arrive early. Walking distance to the beach was nice. "

"Cheap and easy, nothing fancy but it was roomy and clean. Don't be shocked that it is behind and seemly part of the gas station - Even the lobby is in the gas station food mart. They advertise a continental breakfast but it is a few snacks and a piece of fruit in a paper bag you pick up in the morning. But, cheap and safe place to get some rest in the area. "

"We loved our stay at The Monterey Hotel! The building has beautiful historic charm with modern comforts—clean, cozy rooms, comfortable beds, and a friendly, welcoming staff. The location is unbeatable—right in downtown Monterey, within walking distance to Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We didn’t use our car once! Morning coffee and pastries were a nice touch, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend for couples or anyone looking to experience...

"Great hotel for the money. Clean and quiet."

"The property exceeded my expectation in some ways. The mini-fridge was a small Fridge with a separate freezer section. It looked like it was recently updated. The clerk said they were still working on more updates. Parking is limited but that is not totally unusual. There isn’t a menu or pricing for the restaurant next door and when we looked it up online the prices were very different than the actual prices. We will stay there again. "

"Perfect little cabin get away with tons of wild life and a beautiful beach! It’s more retreat style, as there’s no a/c and no tv’s in the room, but with so much going on in and around the property, you don’t miss the TV at all. I can’t speak to whether or not the a/c is necessary, as it was 50° outside during our stay, so we used the heat! I think it stays pretty cool year round in NorCal, But if that’s a necessity for you, just take this into account. Also note, cleaning lady and mini fridge...

"The staff was so accommodating and professional! Rooms were extremely clean! Soft towels. Great breakfast. Quick service if you need anything brought to room. I wasnt crazy about the area but it was quite, no issues at all. The channels and tv were great.. lots of HBO! Think private walls! I was pleasantly suprised and would definitely stay there again!!! Thank you for a great stay!"
