"Pros: Beautiful property with grounds well kept; lovely pools kept clean with plenty of loungers, complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear and beach towels to use at the resort; over the water bar area where you could also dine, but we had to order inside the restaurant first. Concierge was helpful. Having a Seaside Villa was extra nice and it was a perfect size. Air conditioning worked great. Very quiet resort.
Cons: FAR from everything else. To enjoy the island you will need to rent a golf cart, which they offer at the resort, but at a premium price. We found a golf cart rental which was delivered and picked up at the hotel for or more reasonable price. The road to town was horrible, full of pot holes which made it slow and painful. Road in closer to San Pedro were nicer, so you could avoid the extremely bumpy ride if your were nearer. The beach was full of Sea Grass so we really could not swim there, or walk on the beach at the resort. The island and the resort did not have long stretches of beach to just go for a walk either. Not a very nice restaurant, breakfast was decent, but dinner was just ok. Restaurant staff did not really seem to enjoy serving you. Breakfast doesn't start until 8am but for most excursions you have to leave before that so we missed a couple that we paid to have included. Bed was very mushy.
Overall it was fine, but we would try something different if we went back to Ambergris Caye."
"My stay at Watermark Hotel was honestly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel at home, special, and completely taken care of. As a solo traveler, that meant everything.
A huge shoutout to Tanisha at the front desk — she was AMAZING. She didn’t just check me in, she made sure I had the best experience possible. She gave me real tips on where to go (and where not to go), helped me plan my outings, and even called clubs ahead of time to check dress codes for me. That level of care? Top tier.
And then there’s Daniel at the Sky View Bar — wow. He went out of his way to find me homemade empanadas when I couldn’t find them anywhere, and they were SO good. We talked, listened to music, and he made some of the best drinks I’ve ever had. The vibe was unmatched.
I also have to talk about my girl Nancy — she was everything. We connected instantly and talked like we’d known each other forever. She kept me company, made me laugh, and truly made me feel like family. As someone traveling alone, that meant more than I can even explain.
Every single person I interacted with made my experience special, but these three went above and beyond. I didn’t just stay at a hotel — I felt welcomed, cared for, and genuinely appreciated.
I love them all and will definitely be back ❤️"
"Bananas exceeded every expectation! The views were stunning, the vibe was peaceful, and the service was top-tier. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and it truly felt like a luxury experience from start to finish. Great place to relax and unwind! Already planning my next trip back!"
"We had an excellent stay at Coco Beach Resort in San Pedro and would absolutely recommend it. The property was very clean and well maintained, which made our stay comfortable from start to finish.
The pool area was a highlight, we spent a lot of time relaxing there and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We also loved seeing all the wildlife around the hotel, which added such a unique and memorable touch to our stay.
The staff were incredibly helpful, assisting us with booking excursions and making dinner reservations, which made planning our trip so much easier. We also appreciated the convenience of being able to rent a golf cart directly from the hotel, which made exploring the area fun and easy.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’d gladly stay here again."
"Everything was fine until checkout. Despite having informed us multiple times that breakfast was included in our stay (at check-in, and throughout), they proceeded to charge us at check-out knowing we would have little time to contest it before our flight. Finally they agreed to check CCTV / voice recording history but eventually never contacted us again. We reached out again via their website but again radio silence. Watch out for this trap"
