The property was lovely, however, the area around it was scary. There was open drug use, prostitution, and homelessness just feet from the door of the hotel. The hotel did have a security guard, and it appeared that the employees watched the doors closely, but using the hotel as a jumping off point to enjoy the area was not comfortable at all.
