I have stayed at this hotel before, and my previous experience was excellent, which is why I chose to return. Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing.
The room was extremely cold - so cold that it was nearly impossible to sleep. The radiator was completely cold and not functioning, even after I tried adjusting it. There was no alternative heating source in the room - no heater, no climate control system - nothing that could make the temperature comfortable. I ended up sleeping almost fully dressed, as it actually felt warmer outside than inside the room.
In addition, there was a repetitive metallic noise coming from outside of my room throughout the entire night. It sounded like something was repeatedly hitting metal right outside the window - possibly part of the building itself. The noise occurred every few minutes and made it very difficult to rest.
The next morning, I mentioned the issue to a staff member in the elevator. I was told that “it’s cold in San Francisco” and that I could have called the maintenance team. However, a guest room should be properly prepared and heated before check-in, especially when temperatures are low. At midnight, when I was already trying to sleep, calling maintenance did not seem like a practical solution.
It’s unfortunate that this stay was such a contrast to my previous visit. I hope management addresses these issues to prevent similar experiences in the future.
