"We had a very disappointing stay. The hotel had changed ownership/management the week before we stayed (Memorial Day 2026), and the new owners were clearly not ready to rent out or help guests. We stayed in one of the cottages and found mouse droppings all over the pots and pans under the sink. There was no hot water in the cottage. We discovered this after the office closed, so I just cleaned up as much of the mouse droppings as I could using water I boiled on the stove. On our second day, the sink plumbing gave out and flooded the kitchen area, at which point we told the owners about all the issues in our unit. Later that day, we came back to the hotel to discover the room to our unit wide open and nobody in the unit - fortunately we had taken valuable items with us. The hot water and sink were fixed, but there were still mouse droppings under the sink. Third, when the owners came to talk to me, rather than apologize for the unclean unit, they lectured me for not raising the issues with them earlier, and told me that none of it was their fault because they just took over the hotel and couldn’t possibly know any of the problems with the unit. I didn’t even bother raising with them the closed pool and the non-functional hot tub, or the other minor issues with the unit (like no forks in the kitchen) as I did not want to be lectured at even more. It’s too bad, because the location is great, but I would not stay here again with these owners."
