"The room was clean and the breakfast was good The only issue was the stairs to the room as our room was on the 3 floors there were a lot of stairs to climb and we both OAP which was very tiring. On the hold it was a good experience but we would not stay again due to the stairs."

"Second stay at Elder Grove, and loved it as much as the first time! Super clean and comfortable. I slept well every night, and breakfast was wonderful. "What lovely staff, so friendly. This is the best place i have stayed in yet on my Coast to Coast walk. Breakfast was amazing, apart from the usual full english (which loses its novelty after 5 days!) chose eggs benedict which was perfectly cooked and made a lovely change. "Excellent place. We stayed in room 40 in the annexe for families. It has a big and comfortable main bed and bunk beds for kids. Clean and airy, very large room for family with great size bathroom. Pub food was excellent we had the chicken for dinner with wine all good, and sticky toffee pudding was generous size two could share. Overall a great place and convenient close to grasmere, Ambleside and the zip World. Great stay very pleased."

"A great property. Excellent location, in a quiet location but also very close to the shops. The kitchen diner was a great space and well equipped. Three very spacious bedrooms, the fourth was small but ok. Only grumble would be the tv rather small and hand soap dispenser was empty. Would certainly recommend"

"The door of the en suite shower would not open properly and once in the shower it was difficult to get out !! Some shower gel would have been helpful. Overall the accommodation was very nice despite the steep steps up to the property. The decor was very tasteful and extremely clean and spacious. "

"The check in information did not arrive in time and it took 15 min to call and sort things out. Otherwise, there is no complaint on the property. Street parking with permit, it sometimes needs luck to find a nearby parking space."
