"This hotel is excellent. The staff (including the owner) is phenomenal. Everyone is so accommodating and welcoming. The staff speaks English and provides concierge service (directions, booking drivers/transportation and excursions). They were all concerned for my well-being and safety. The food at the restaurant was tasty. The pool is clean, warm, and aesthetically pleasing. The beds include a mosquito net to protect you. The air conditioning is nice and cold. "O quarto estava em boas condições de estrutura e limpeza, mas a estrutura do prédio de forma geral deixa um pouco a desejar. O quarto é muito escuro, mas a cama é muito boa. O chuveiro precisa de manutenção. A família que nos recebeu foi muito simpática e prestativa, mas não é exatamente um hotel."

"The staff were amazing....very helpful, friendly and ready to go out of their way to help the guests. Room was small, but clean and the bed was comfortable. Located in the heart of Stone Town so it's close to most places of interest. I will stay again."

"There was no pool and aircon was only in room, possibly in the resto downstairs, but in no common areas. Lovely staff, good food, nice decor and art. Lots of stairs. Airport shuttle was reasonable and good. "

"Hotel with a unique, cool interior. Missing a safe and refrigerator in the room. There was a problem with the water supply in the shower, the water ran out in the middle of the shower. Experienced the same with the faucet in the sink. Also felt there was a bit of visibility into the shower area from the other buildings around."

"Construction noise marred our stay. Electric jack hammering sounds on a Sunday from 7am, until after 7Pm. When I complained, the senior manager insisted there had NOT been hammering activity in their construction. Simply refused to belive me. Arrogant and rude. And the next morning, at checkout, the plaster removal hammering was happening in the front entrance."

"Lovely place located in the middle of Stone Town. Decent beds. Lovely staff! Be aware: No curtains to keep the room dark in the morning. No fridge so your water will be hot. No turndown service with mosquito spray."

"The property was in a good location to get to Stone Town and the ferry. Booking thru Expedia led to some confusion at checkout as their Expedia payment system was initially declined so we had to go on Expedia chat followed by a phone call to the facility to straighten everything out. Expedia could make that process much less confusing. The included breakfast was a nice treat and while I mostly take the stairs, the elevator was not working for half our stay. Overall though the stay was lovely...
