"The room was spacious but the bedding is old and have tears on it. There were toilet paper in there as the property managers appeared to hoard it and give it to you only when you ask for it. An older lady came down to get toilet papers when I was about to check in and I had to do the same. Contrary to what was advertised, the room does not have a microwave and fridge. They brought a small fridge after I asked for it. There were no tissue paper though they have a placeholder for it. The bathroom tub is rusty and paint peels were all over. It was disgusting! However the hotel is well placed in a good and accessible location "

"I literally seen a roach, the shower head was hanging on by dear life. Cabinets chipped. My door didn’t close all the way at the bottom."

"If I can give this place a lower star, I would starting off the bat we need to change the pictures, some of the review that are good are ppl to probably are moving thru staying one night. because it is nothing as what you see when you try to book this hotel. It is in the middle of nowhere very sketchy area trucking highway, the hotels under construction, and even the construction or the areas that are done. Still need to be worked on. We got our first room. There were dead bugs that look like bedbugs. Some where still moving, They changed us to a different room, the new room that we went to was OK only reason why we stood was because every other hotel around us was fully booked. We did not have a phone in our room so that we will be able to call front Desk. We asked if we can speak to the manager. They said the manager wasn’t in until Monday. They gave us a phone number. Phone number does not work so yeah if I was you, I would not be booking at this hotel. "

"We had a good stay at the Best Western Independence Kansas City location. -Ms. Katie was awesome. She made check-in super easy after a long drive, she was very helpful with getting us extra towels, and re-programing our key card when it no longer worked for our room. -The breakfast attendant (Sorry, I didn't get her name) that was working Sunday morning made us fell welcomed by engaging in small talk with us. Breakfast was a normal hotel complimentary breakfast - but was still nice and hot. -Our room was clean for the most part, we did see some vanilla wafers in a corner of the room, a random dirty sock near the bed, and a dirty washcloth hanging in the shower. Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed ourselves. "

"Property is older, secluded and in dark area outside. It is right next to interstate which makes it convenient. Breakfast had some option but still seemed limited - I did not try anything. AC in room worked fine. "

"The air conditioning was poor with a indoor pool the humidity stayed in the room made it u comfortable to sleep reported 3 times the maintenance was prompt in addressing the call but the air conditioner still was poor didnt go below 78 stayed on all night they looked at a second time i then asked fir a different room. Went to the second room it wasnt any better I would like some kind of compensation but not sure i will be staying again. If i was able to open the windows which was about the same temp but the windows were bolted shut i was in room 103 and then 113"

"The rooms were very clean & nice. We had a problem with the toilet. It would not flush so we had to use lobby bathroom. The staff was very nice."

"Room was okay. Door to patio stuck slightly open. Bathroom did not have any place to hang towels, except one short rod for a hand towel. Check-in was fast and easy. Gentleman who helped us was efficient and friends. During our two night stay, DeeDee worked the front desk over the weekend. She greeted guests as they entered, asking about their breakfast or their day. Truly a GREAT representative of the hotel. We easily walked to Royals games just across the street. Great location."
