"Genuinely friendly welcome. Well appointed and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Peter and Jerry couldn't do enough to ensure I had a wonderful few days. Definitely recommended."

"Nice property in a great location. The beech and pubs are only a few minutes walk away. Needs a bit of TLC, one kitchen cupboard has come away from its adjacent unit, freezer drawers broken handles and both bathroom hand towel and toilet roll holders are loose. The kitchen could be better equipped, e.g. needs some digital scales, some bowels better for cereal, new saucepans and a sieve. Only one fan was provided, in a heatwave this wasn't enough - I did contact the letting agency, but had no...

"I really liked this hotel, it was our second visit but, they completely messed up our dinner. We pre ordered the roast pork but, unfortunately they ran out! We ended up with ham, egg and chips which was laughable, the ham looked like thinly sliced spam, the egg was overcooked and we had a few oven chips! It was so bad we got up and walked out, which i have never done before and I’m 67! I have emailed the hotel but, no reply! We won’t be going back!"

"Amazing hotel, lovely grounds, plenty of parking, lovely staff - all very helpful and clearly enjoy working there, nice relaxing bar with a friendly bartender, nice spacious and cool bedrooms, food was amazing, evening entertainment was decent, nice breakfast with a really good selection, only had a 2 night stay but will definitely be returning."

"A gem of a place. Room was 100% and the breakfast kept me going all day. Location is 150 metres away from the main street. I now know where I am stopping next time I am in Paignton. Very highly recommended."

"The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room, which was very spacious. The bed was quite comfortable and the rooms seemed to be sound-proof because it was so quiet and relaxing. Livermead beach is located across the street; the beach is beautiful, but the sand disappears at high tide, so be sure to plan your beach day around this. We also loved the stunning views from the rooftop terrace bar. We would love to return to Torquay and stay here...

Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. "had a 2 night stay and location good and in its heyday sure was a great hotel, but it is run down and needs a lot of money spent on it, room was very worn, wallpaper hanging off wall and bit tatty. we had a family room with bunk bed, and this it was very old and very noisy. The weather was very hot at the time of stay which was great for the weekend but being on 3rd floor the rooms were very uncomfortable."
