"I had high expectations for this hotel. I chose it based on reviews and price (fairly high) I love a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, other than the price I would not consider this a luxury hotel. The decor is kitchy, dated, and way overdone. To me everything just seemed to be trying too hard and it all missed the mark. "The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a great location with there being a short walk into the heart of the Pearl District. The hotel and our room were clean and well maintained. There’s a towel warmer in the large bathroom, which was a nice touch. Bed comfort was ok. I think the mattress was a hybrid or inner spring which was a little bouncy and offered no movement isolation. Pillows were too fluffy for us as they were very high.
