I’m not one to complain and I understand nobody is perfect. The staff is very nice and friendly. It’s just the AC did not work which happened at times. The process of getting a new room was when we were ignored. The tech said he called the front desk and someone would be right up to bring us to our new room. Nobody ever came to our room. I called the front desk and waited on hold for 30 minutes. Finally, a representative picked up and to make a long story short they had no record of a staff member coming up to give us a key. We had to bring our luggage downstairs again to get another room waiting in line. It was a lengthy process that was a chaotic mess. Unfortunately, there have been other situations where the AC is not working and as a customer I feel like I’m the burden on the employees. After a while you get toa situation and just stay sone where else.

GSR charges premium prices because of its reputation as Reno's largest Casino but their service is anything but premium. I recently stayed a week there and had my 'please clean room' tag up for 3 consecutive days. Nothing was cleaned. When I asked for towels because I had run out halfway into my week stay, none came. I asked twice nicely. The third time I asked the front desk took pity on me and arranged for me to get some towels. Basically GSR is indeed the largest casino in Reno but their service is completely casino focused. They couldn't care less about the rooms. If you want a functional room that's been cleaned with towels: Motel 6 will do a better job than GSR does. I ended up cleaning my room myself because this hotel will not.

Our family stays here quite often because of the convenience and price. It’s a casino and like all casinos the cigarette smoke is horrible. Really wish a better ventilation system would be used. Check in always takes way too long, however check in staff has always been very friendly. LOVE the concert area. You can conveniently see from any seat. Outside area is clean, but Reno in general cater way too much to the homeless and a lot of tent cities. I wouldn’t venture out on a walk at night. This isn’t GSR’s problem and I believe they do their best to keep vagrants off the property.

Don’t let the initial low price fool you. They will nickel and dime you like crazy. I paid for my reservation in full during booking. Upon check in, I was charged $200 dollars for “deposits and resort fees” even though I paid the resort fees with my reservation. The room was hastily “cleaned” (bed was made, that’s it) and the room smelled of smoke. I didn’t even use any of the amenities or even the water bottles in the room. Upon check out, I was again greeted with another $100 charge for the “resort fees” and forced gratuity to the hlusekeeping staff. Protesting this solved nothing. I will be disputing the charges with Expedia/my bank and recommend against staying at the Grand Sierra.

Checkin was great. I wish I had gotten the name of our guest services lady. She was professional and very pleasant to speak with. Everything except the tear in the carpet and the view were great. I would have rather have been facing the other direction towards the mountains.

Greeted with a glass on champagne was impressive. Separate elevator for each tower so have to be aware which one to get on. Was not advised we had to provide plate number to park in the lot. My husband happened to go get something from the car just in time as security was going to have car ticketed/towed. To obtain a parking pass he had return to the room to get identification. Which meant another trip up elevator to 24th floor and then back to vehicle to display ticket. Very annoying as this is an hour of our short evening in Reno. Enjoyed time at the pool which was an excellent space.

We loved the service in the hotel! The entryway is stunning. The smell of cigarette smoke is kinda gross- but it is a casino so we were prepared for this- it was only bothersome when it wafted upstairs. We also had a mold spot on our ceiling and our allergies were certainly impacted for the duration of our stay. There are so many food options down stairs. The conference room areas are nice and seem well maintained.

The staff was slow at every restaurant, however it could have been due to overcrowding of guests. The restaurants, bars and stores inside were extremely over priced. Prices comparable to a Vegas setting, without the Vegas experience.

All of the staff we spoke to were kind and helpful. Our room was a little dirty and when we called the front office they offered to come clean the room or put us in a different room. Besides the room and mess the stay was enjoyable.

We enjoyed our three-night stay at the GSR! We were here for a gymnastics competition and this resort had everything we needed for a fantastic experience. The mobile check-in was easy and our room was available and ready early. The room was modern and clean. There were so many dining options (our favorite was the lobster roll at Chickies) and the Starbucks was lovely. We went to the pool everyday and the pool staff were fantastic. Will absolutely return!

I booked a room with a bath tub for medical reasons. My reservation clearly said, two queens with a bathtub/shower combo. It clearly said bathtub. A bath is mandatory if I expect to sleep. Grand Sierra should never advertise a bath tub when there are removing them. What incompetence is taking tubs out of hotels!! My body has been through 44 surgeries. To sleep my muscles must be soaked in water. So last night, I never slept and cried in pain from spasms. They should refund my room 1205 for Sat night as it was not acceptable. DJ Simpson
