"Air and pool were great. MANY stairs..quite a climb would not recommend for older people or with any disability. Close to good restaurants and markets. "

"Stayed here with a friend and i will rate it a 7/10 .. cleanliness could be a better with receiving a semi dirty room. .. from my knowledge there’s no big breakfast but they provided muffins , coffee and lemon water . .. there’s a bar that’s supposed to open at 3 but it can opened at later times depending on the workers (the latest 6:45) and it closes at 9 .. staff was very nice , upgraded my room & places I can go near for either food/ toiletries or nightlife. I love the view with my balcony...

"Location was nice overlooking the harbor. Room was not clean. Told front desk staff and management and nothing was done about it. Long stringy blonde hair everywhere in showers on floor on covers. Toilet area not clean. No phone is room and management didn’t know why."

My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! "

The simplicity might be a little less than what some want, but the stay met every one of our needs. The environment was beautiful and the beach was our favorite on the island! The power on the island went out almost every night which is terrible for someone who has to use a CPAP to sleep. It seemed as though all of the units around us had generators. If we had one it was never brought to our attention. We had no way to exit the compound because the gate would only open from the outside.
