"Fabulous hotel. Friendly staff and wonderful position. We had a gorgeous room over looking the estuary. Couldn't fault anything. My husband collapsed in Salcombe and everyone at the hotel was very helpful, particularly members of the public who came to my husbands aid. I did thank the people that helped us but not having anyone's telephone numbers was not able to thank them properly. It was so appreciated. We had to go home so didn't get to enjoy the hotel as we would have liked. Thank you...

"The view from our room was gorgeous and the enclosed balcony with heater was an unexpected bonus. The room was nice but thought the bathroom looked ‘tired’. From previous reviews, I thought the hotel would feel much more special than it did. We were here to celebrate a special birthday ( which the hotel were aware of) but that seemed to pass them by. "Air conditioning in the room did not work Bit poor as we were in a mini heatwave. Could not use our room from 3pm as it was only just starting to be deep cleaned after having a dog in the room. On the evening we had to wait for two hours for food. Not told that when we ordered. The place was just short staffed and it showed. My partner was told by the manager that our meals would be compensated due to really poor service and presentation. That hasn't happened. The next morning was better....

"The cottage is in an ideal location but is tired and in need of a little love. Whilst the beds were comfy, the bed linen and general furniture felt very worn. We loved the history and position of the cottage and it was great for a 2 night stay with my children. It's important to note that you cannot park near the cottage and have to approach on foot up a very steep alley. Views from the garden were spectacular. "

"Really enjoyed our two night stay. The room was really comfortable with thoughtful extra touches like complimentary bottled water, a big selection of hit drinks and bottled milk and oat milk in the fridge. Staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was extremely good. A relative who lives in the town said it was their favourite place to go for breakfast and I can see why. I highly recommend a stay here ."

"Lovely sea view from the balcony and great location. Unfortunately the toilet seat was dirty as was the kitchen sink. No cleaning products to clean this ourselves! No tea or coffee or milk provided. Two toilet rolls, no spare. Furniture tatty and the whole apartment needs decorating."
