The resort itself is beautiful and has a lot of covered walking paths to get from the lobby to the rooms, pools, and restaurants, helpful when it rains on and off a lot in Cairns. Breakfast buffet was really good, wish it was built into the price though. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly one night with very noisy neighbours at 2:30am. "Lovely appointed hotel at the quiet end of The Esplanade closer to the airport. The front rooms are well appointed, but located directly above the restaurant so be prepared for noise. The nearby hospital (chopper) also adds to the noise. The staff were very helpful with luggage as there are no lifts. We felt the room was given a basic clean from the previous occupants because we were only staying one night. The floor was dirty and sticky and amenities not topped up. "It was terrible during my 4 days stay at hotel. The first two days I kept on being interrupted by noise. The first night the noise was so loud I thougt it was train passing near by. I could not fall asleep for most of the night. It totally ruined my following day reef tour. l believe the noise came from a blocked or damaged stormwater down pipe outside my room after rain. "The hotel is behind in their maintenance jobs. The bathroom faucet never stopped dripping and the sliding door to the balcony couldn’t open. I called the desk downstairs twice for someone to come to my room to fix the jammed lock. They couldn’t fix it so I just left the door unlocked.
