Our stay at the El Beso resort was overall very disappointing.
From the start of the trip, even though our reservation was for 6 people, our rooms were on either side of the resort, meaning to get to each other we would have to walk the whole resort. Next with our rooms, some of the drinks that were in the fridge were already opened, the hot tub on the rooftop (which was an upcharged room) was not working and maintenance needed to be called. One of the rooftop rooms was even missing the outdoor swing chair, which was never resolved.
Moving on to the actual resort, the food options were very limited. Much of the options were repeated throughout the restaurants, and lacked overall quality. We can say that a few of the restaurants did have good service, however it came with very long wait times. Another thing to mention is that some of the restaurants needed to be reserved first thing in the morning to get a spot in the evening, and others were first come first serve, in which at one time, we were turned away service because of not following the dress code (wearing Birkenstocks which were not considered ‘close-toed’), when the previous day we were accepted service at the same restaurant for wearing the same type of shoes.
Next, the pools, which were probably about the only thing that was good and consistent. The lazy river was great and we spent a lot of time in there.
Our concierge (Carlos E.) was amazing, and helped us figure out a lot of these problems.
