"We had an amazing time here at Te Moana. The staff are more than accommodating and allowed us access to the property well before we checked in. Every day the property is filled with fresh flowers right from the grounds. It’s truly a breathtaking experience. Wonderful food and staff."

"The bungalow setting was simply unforgettable. Clear blue waters, ideal for snorkeling, kayaking and many other water activities. The staff is friendly and accommodating, assisted us in all our requests - from arranging activities and shuttling to nearby restaurants, to restocking the fridge, etc. That being said, the property needs a bit of a refresh. "I regret not staying longer, and truly experiencing this resort in it's full glory. M dining was exceptional, service staff of very high standards, location was stunning, room was divinely simple with luxury feel and comfort. My only observation that was a detractor, (however will not prevent me from returning or highly recommending it) was the noise level coming from the onsite construction. Recognizing this is a must, I understand, however if my intention was to be immersed in nature with a good book and plenty of sun, it would have been tainted. That aside, still a gem in paradise, and I will return."

"It’s underrated"

"We spent a total of 6 nights at the Kon Tiki before and after a cruise. On first arriving in the middle of the night there was a mix-up with our room category which the reception staff could not fix without the manager's approval. Instead of an ocean front room we were given a room at the back with a view over a container depot. This was not the fault of the hotel but Expedia who provided incorrect information about our booking. Upon speaking to the manager the following day we were moved to a very nice room with a view over the harbour. The manager was extremely helpful and rectified the problem promptly. On our return to the hotel following the cruise we were treated to a free buffet breakfast which we assume was by way of compensation for the mix-up. We ate almost all our meals either in the cafe on the ground floor or at the restaurant on the 7th floor. The cafe was delightful and provided high quality light meals and good coffee. We enjoyed nightly drinks on the terrace outside the restaurant and excellent food from the tapas menu. The restaurant manager was very charming and helpful. All hotel staff were excellent. The hotel is opposite the ferry terminal, and it is a short walk to the shipping terminal from where our cruise departed. The immediate vicinity of the hotel was a little underwhelming but we were able to walk to the market, a pharmacy and a supermarket. Any downside was more than compensated for by the excellent quality of the hotel and its convenience. "
