"One Gem Hotel has exceeded all my expectations. After missing our train to Sanya, I booked this hotel due to its high reviews. The friendly staffs helped saved my day. As I was leaving the taxi, I dropped my cell phone inside the taxi, my husband and I thought it was lost forever. "Our initial room felt quite old, and there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. It appeared to be coming from another room, as the odour was even more intense in the corridor and near our door. Unfortunately, no action was taken after our first complaint. We were later upgraded to a club floor room, which was an improvement, though still not ideal. "Super helpful staff. 5 overall room had some minor hits to carpet and curtains that diminished the feeling of a topnotch property. Can’t expect those to be changed out from minor damage but they are noticed. Quality of the build and materials in excellent. Soundproofing is superb so sleep was excellent. Great bed and bedding. Location convenient to excellent food and shopping. "
