The staff were all amazing. Especially Daniel in Entertainment went out of his way to make us comfortable. The location is great and the pool area is lovely. I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5 and very affordable.

I don’t typically leave reviews, but this resort deserves it. The ocean views were stunning, the food was excellent, and the service throughout the resort was outstanding. The rooms, pools, and dining options were all exceptional. It’s also a wonderful place for families—our kids especially enjoyed the gaming station. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable vacation Drinks were amazing.

The staff is friendly. The food is plentiful. The pools are very nice and location great. However, we booked a partial ocean view and were given a room on the 7th floor. Looking out our sliding door, we were eye level with about 30 constructions guys building the new hotel next to us. We could barely see any ocean over all the metal rods and other construction materials. On top of that the 8th floor is being renovated so we woke up to furniture being drug across the floor above us. I think the 7th floor should not be occupied, and certainly rooms on the side facing the construction should not be advertised as having any kind of desire view.

The staff was great! The food on the buffet was pretty decent but the Paella at the buffet was wonderful.The Italian restaurant ( must have a reservation) was wonderful, with good vibes, and the food was amazing! We didn’t have a chance to try the Mexican restaurant or the French restaurant, so maybe next time. The only thing I would make people aware of is that the room we were staying in the bathroom does not have a door separating it from the rest of the space. There are frosted glass doors to the shower and toilet for privacy but not a door to enclose the whole bathroom. The staff cleaned the pool every day and they refilled the mini fridge every day. The bar and lounge area are nice as well. They call you a taxi or uber for you if needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful so do not hesitate to ask for assistance or their advice.

Initial room selection was very inappropriate as there was a tremendous amount of construction being done close by due to renovations and a complex being built. Some things were also so-so in the room. Flagged the room issues with staff and got and 'upgrade': room had not been deep cleaned and visible traces of the previous stay were still visible. Turns out the last room i was given was in fact the best one and the most fitting of the reservation description I had booked several mo ths ago: It was u fortunated that i had to place several complaints to finally get what i was expectig to be set and done from the get go. Room service was ok but also sometimes forgetful on the night shift when requesting certain things. Pool area was ok. Got crowded very quick. Was at the beach most of the time due to this or went to the adult only side at the Hacienda complex when quiet and pool were needed. Bar selections are diverse, staff is very accommodating of requests for drinks. Dining experience (selected: La Catrina) was unfortunately very slow and not as authenticly mexican as initially described. Going to the old market area has proven better for views and better a la carte dining options. Food wise, buffets and all sides of the complex were very good. Regardless of the hiccups, i would book at the Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta again.

I enjoyed that the resort is right on the beach, which allowed us to take long walks and enjoy hearing the waves. I didnt like that the rule of not reserving lounge chairs was not enforced at all so unless you reserved a longer with your towel or book at 7;00am there was absolutely no place to sit. I saw some guest putting personal items on loungers in multiple areas to use at different times during the day, which is very selfish behavior and should not be tolerated by resort staff.

Nice Stay For a 4 Day Trip

Nice place to stay in! It wasn’t too crowded when we stayed in the month of May. You have access to Krystal Grand and Hacienda which is a nice plus as Krystal Grand is more family friendly and Hacienda is for adults and more quieter. The food was not bad but could improve. You also have to make a reservation for the restaurants for the dinner option but if you don’t make it on time you are out of luck. We managed to get one on our last night only after talking to reception. You also have to pay a fee for room service. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. No complaints on that. Overall it was a very nice experience.

Staff at this resort were very friendly and provide awesome services. Transportation was easy accessible with their taxis. Getting to the city was fun & easy. We actually rented uber to get to the city. They had multiple restaurants & souvenirs shops. Just overall a great & memorable experience at this resort.

Staff was friendly and attentive with the exception of when the beach was rented to cruise ships docked for their passengers. Condition of the resort was poor and cleaned only with water - no cleaning agents. This included the reusable cups used by the bars for cocktails.

The customer service in the buffet restaurant was excellent and the seafood they served at Jalavera restaurant was delicious. That's really the only thing nice about this property. What I don't like is the room I stayed at, it smells musty, earthy and damp. I know, there's mold in my room. It rained during my stay and it flooded the inside of the room where the door of the balcony area. Part of my blanket got soaked and was wet and I called front desk for a new one, but no one came to replace it, so that night I slept without a blanket. The pictures here on expedia is very different from the what the actual room looks like so beware.

On the positive side, the beach at this property is excellent! Some less positive things were only two ala carte restaurants open per day and food was poor. Always short on beach towels and towels for the rooms. Not enough poolside and beach loungers to go around. The lack of inventory at this resort made it feel like it was going to shut down soon and they were trying to get by with as little as possible. Rooms need updating as well. The staff for the most part were excellent. Other than one manager that was quite rude from the Hacienda side. Overall, we still had a good vacation, but the property and inventory really need to improve.

Where do I start 1) room appeared nice. Beds were comfortable 2) I was told I could not have inflatable tube for my 3&5 year old but all the local Mexicans could. Caucasian or Canadians weren’t allowed I guess 3) next day I was also told my 3&5 year old were not allowed to jump in the pool but again everyone else was allowed. 4) food was as limited but good. 5) drinks were good and servers around the pool were great 6) French resto was only one I tried and was great. 7) we had heavy rain day 3 that flooded out entire room. It was coming in the ceiling. When I went to talk to Libby I was in ankle deep water. The entire hotel was as falling apart. The ceilings all had holes and water pouring out them. Got moved to another room which was nice but on the 4th floor and the elevators were all not working. So I had to carry my kid and stroller up and down 4 flights of stairs 8) I wanted to use an umbrella to take a walk and was told I was not allowed Enjoyed ourselves as much as we could but would not go back or refer friends there sadly. This hotel needs a massive renovation

Paid for Delux ocean view, didn’t get it instead I got the view of trees blocking the ocean. I requested to be moved to a room with an ocean view which they did however it didn’t have a balcony, front desk staff told me I paid for ocean view only balcony was not included. Be carefully when you booked ocean view with them. Front desk staff was a little bit snarky, however staff at the buffet and security guard were amazing, friendly and kind. We often stay late at night, and one security guy always stayed around our area to make sure we were safe. I don’t know if I would stayed here again since I didn’t like the rooms nor the front desk staff.

REVIEW FOR KRYSTAL GRAND ONLY NOT THE HACIENDA SIDE Pros: easy to walk around and close proximity to downtown, shopping centers, the marina and grocery stores. The staff are wonderful and super nice. Owest (sushi bar 18 pool) was the highlight of our stay. Pretty quiet and lots of infinity pool space to relax and watch the sunset. The food was decent (not the breakfast it was terrible), but im not a super picky eater and usually just ate salad, yogurt and Ceviche (so good) the whole time. If youre picky with your food you may not enjoy your stay as much. If you go to the steakhouse get the beef fillet its was so good and tender. Cons: Our room frequently smelt of sewage and the shower was spotty going from sprinkles to normal pressue. It was frequently cold water coming from the shower as well. The bedding is another, the sheets were clean but the douvet underneath the cover was really gross, stained and honeslty shouldnt be reused. One of the elevators were not functioning and when it would get down to the main floor you had to hold on the open button and pry open the door (if you're alone good luck). We ended up getting off on the second floor and taking to stairs. This was reported to the desk but remained an issue throughout our stay. Overall i did enjoy my stay but no way is this at all a 5 star hotel. My intitial search shows it listed as a 5 star but I believe that may just be the rating for the Hacienda side only.
