This place has so much potential, but unfortunately they need to do some sort of revamping. If you are looking to connect with nature without caring for comfort/ cleanliness, then this would be a good spot.
If you're seeking the ultimate blend of high-style glamping, immersion in nature, and a genuine taste of local life, look no further than Tubagua Ecolodge! Our recent stay was nothing short of magical, and we can't stop raving about it.
From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the serene beauty that surrounds this hidden gem. The accommodations are not just luxurious; they are perfectly integrated into the stunning landscape, allowing you to feel at one with the lush surroundings. Each morning began with a delightful breakfast that set the tone for our adventures, and every dinner was a culinary masterpiece that left us eager for more. The meals were fresh, flavorful, and a true testament to the local cuisine—absolutely delicious!
One of the highlights of our trip was our guided hike with Juanine, who was nothing short of exceptional. His passion for the environment and local culture shone through as he led us to breathtaking waterfalls, reminding us to "chase waterfalls," just like the song says! Juanine's knowledge and enthusiasm made our exploration not just enjoyable but also deeply enriching.
We fell in love with paradise during our stay at Tubagua and are already planning a return trip with our grown kids in tow. This is a place we can't wait to share with our friends and family—it's a true treasure that deserves to be experienced by all. If you're looking for a getaway that offers adventure, relaxation, and a taste of the local lifestyle, Tubagua Ecolodge is
We booked a single room for 3 adults. The queen-sized bed was nice. Two twin beds were located in a loft that was very cramped. Definitely a tight squeeze for average-sized adult men. No hot water, which is to be expected. The property is beautiful. As eco-lodges go, this one was not as secluded as some. You will definitely hear noise from neighbors, road noise, dogs, roosters, etc. View is spectacular. Staff excellent. We were glad we opted for the family dinner. The food was good and the portions generous. We were not bothered by mosquitoes in our room at all, despite it being completely open-air - however we appreciated the mosquito netting around the beds. The few mosquitoes lurking in the common washroom were the only ones we saw.
I stayed in one of the larger units; it had a fantastic view. Even though it was hot when I was there, we were high enough on the mountain to have a fresh breeze and I slept soundly with the help of a standing fan. Although rustic, there were plenty of hooks and space to unpack and settle in. Although there were about 25 steps to get to the lodge I was in it was totally worth the effort to get to the view and privacy! The food was delicious and the open air dining room also had beautiful views. The staff were kind, friendly and accommodating. We took a hike to God’s Swimming pool; the guide was patient and knowledgeable. The owner also curated a trip for us on another day to the nearby cigar factory and coffee plantation. I had an unforgettable time and would love to go back; this is definitely a place not to miss!
Our stay was so unique~we loves everything! It was family friendly, the staff, the pets, the coffee and the food were outstanding! The view was amazing and Juanine’s tour to Gods pool and the Coffee plantation will be the most memorable part of our trip. The room was very simple but had great beds and the view was spectacular. Tim, the owner has great information about DR and the staff make you feel at home and like you’re part of the family. Our 12 year old said the breakfast and lunch was the best food on the trip. I can’t say enough nice things, it just was a really cool experience.
Realy beautyful Lodge with very friendly Personal and an absolutely stunning view.
A Place you could feel well
If yes if there would not be that highway through your bed
I did not sleep one second that night and we left the place next morning.
I feel very sorry about that because I liked that lodge a lot
