"Soon as we pulled up to the property at 1:30 am we noticed a lot of people standing outside. One of those people walked up to the car to attempt a drug transaction not knowing who we were. There was noise and traffic throughout the night which made it impossible to sleep. Lastly the room had fleas"

"The hotel was very clean with a large room. Breakfast was well varied and hot...very good. The only drawback was in the bathroom there was just a shower, no tub, and for someone with bad knees it was hard to stand for long. We will come back the next time we are that way, the price was good and the hotel was quiet."

"The room was fine, however, there was black mold in the bathroom on the shower walls, the exhaust fan was out of service. There were areas where there were repairs, no effort to blend it. (Wall patches etc.) I feel details of cleanliness were left out (grease splatter on the wall behind the stove top, marks and other things on the baseboards). Free of bedbugs but a mattress protector would be nice to have on each bed for cleanliness."

"I always enjoy the Horseshoe for its convenience to I-10 in lake Charles. Been stopping since it was new. Hasn’t been long but already maintenance should be on top of carpets separating in hallways, bathroom ceilings peeling from moisture in the showers. Housekeeping should pay attention to mildew in showers and the debris in corners and under the edges of beds. Staff would do well to greet guests with a smile, and not fraternize in front of guests. Wish there were healthy eating...

"The check-in process went smoothly and the room and hotel were clean minus the weird smell in the elevator. The shower sucked!!! I absolutely hated it. I hope they weren’t all like that. The staff was helpful."

"I live in hotels full time for the past 2 years. I've stays in hundreds of them. This is by far the worst. Bugs everywhere. I had to buy bug strips because of how many flys. Also the ceiling drips. It wasn't raining either. Who knows what liquid it was. But it will drip on your bed. Blood on the walls. Bed sheets dont get changed ever. You will have to sleep in dirty sheets."
