"Clean pleasant room that looked recently refurbished, with a kettle and microwave and a enough tea and coffee to survive a night and morning. A fridge and hairdryer was useful. Shower was good, stocked with shampoo and conditioner. Bathroom was clean. Otherwise it was basic but sufficient. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. "Great location for exploring Bristol and if you’re planning day trips, as the bus station and train station are easily walkable. Staff were very friendly, though I did have to ask for something a couple of days in a row. The breakfast area looks very inviting. My room was a fair size but a little on the scruffy side - possibly due to damp, as the extractor fan isn’t great and the windows don’t open much, so lots of condensation. WiFi was terrible, ending up using all my data - as the connection...

"The room was comfortable and clean, with a kettle provided for tea and coffee, which was great. The only thing missing was guest toiletries — cotton pads are always handy. I usually bring my own, but on this occasion I had forgotten them, so they would have been a nice addition.
Breakfast offered a decent selection. The egg option was scrambled only, but I was told that if I wanted something different, they would make it. I would suggest adding a second tea/coffee station, as there was a queue...

"Characterful hotel with well equipped rooms and in a fantastic location but has a disgraceful policy of charging guests an extra fee to to hold their bags pre-check in and post-check out.
Never encountered this at any other hotel, including other within the same chain. Holding guest bags is a minimum expectation of the complimentary service at most hotels irrespective of budget."

"Reception team were welcoming, friendly and efficient. Have to say that the room was a disappointment. I paid for a Superior Room (251)! but it felt very tired and dated. There was damp on the external walls and the paint on the window cills were all chipped and blown from the moisture. It didn’t feel Superior at all. "

"Some of the cleaning staff needs to pay attention to their personal hygiene. There no reason for a guest to be blasted with the overpowering body odour of some staff in the lifts or hallways.
It is markedly so in the elevator the housekeeping staff uses that opens to the back area. It needs to be addressed. "
