"Do not book this hotel under any circumstances. The photos are completely misleading.
Our room had a strong musty, mould-like and sewage-like smell. We were moved and upgraded, but the same issue continued. I had throat and lung irritation during the night and we checked out the next morning. This was our honeymoon, and the experience was awful.
The rooms felt damp, unhealthy and badly maintained. There appeared to be black mould on the curtains, and when I opened them, residue stained my hands and I had to wash them twice. The toilets were broken in both rooms we were shown.
Breakfast was terrible and basically inedible. It tasted like reheated leftovers. At the rooftop bar, we waited around 45 minutes to be served despite several staff standing around, and the prices were around three times higher than normal.
After leaving, I read other reviews alleging rat problems at the property, including one claim that a rat crawled on a guest while they slept. Based on what we experienced, sadly, that does not surprise me.
The staff were polite, but the property itself is in shocking condition. Avoid, especially if you have asthma, allergies, chest sensitivity, or any concern about mould, hygiene or air quality."
"Great service with friendly and polite staff. They took note of my birthday and celebrated for me during breakfast time. Overall, stay was pleasant and great. Only downside was mosquitoes in the room for two nights and we had difficulties sleeping"
"One of the best hotels that I’ve ever stayed in anywhere in the world. I truly mean this. The property was kept so beautifully. Everyone was so kind and helpful and accommodating. Yet they allowed space for guests to enjoy as if it was their own private villa."
"Beautiful location with amazing views of the ocean. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were beautiful, and so helpful. The breakfast was a bit disappointing, was usually cold every morning, and because I am such a fussy eater did not like the breakfast buffet very much, which had a lot of Indonesian food, which I do not like, but I am very fussy with food. They still served eggs anyway you wanted them cooked, had fruit and cereals so still had a good size breakfast every morning (just mentioning this for those people who are fussy like me). The only issue we had with the accommodation, was the shower being in the bath, the bath was very high and there were no handrails to hold on to get in and out of the bath. Consequently, my husband slipped getting out of the bath and fractured 3 ribs. This is fine for younger people but we are in our 60s and not as limber as we used to be. We reported this to the staff and the same afternoon, they had installed to handrails in the shower, which we were very grateful for. We also had access to a doctor at the hotel. Overall a lovely place to stay."
"Our stay was quite magical with exquisite sunset views each evening and an unforgettable experience with every staff interaction. We had delicious food, drinks, and every latte was professional quality. Every time we had a question, it was met with patience and care. Our room was cleaned daily and we were given everything we needed to have an incredible time during our stay in Uluwatu.
My only wish is about the spa experience: it would be nice if they stocked water for the guests, and if they did a full mani/Pedi with cuticle care, and deep foot scrub to really get through the dead skin.
The girls doing the massage were awesome and so sweet, but I'm afraid they don't understand what a Lymphatic massage entails. I was hoping for some lymphatic drainage of my face also. It was a pretty good deep tissue massage, however.
After a massage, especially a Lymphatic massage, water is essential and it was disappointing that I had to wait to get back to my room to hydrate my body.
The reflexology massage was pretty similar. I would recommend that the spa offers what they know instead of these options, until the staff is trained."
