"You will be asked to pay again onsite! Owner claims this site doesn’t pay her. Our choice was find a new place to stay or pay cash. Overall the stay was acceptable. It wasn’t the cleanest, we had a couple cockroaches as well. It was nice that the owner always had bottled water available for sale. The air conditioning in the bedrooms works great. There are a few amenities listed that are not available: shampoo/soap, traditional washing machine and the only bedding provided is a sheet and pillow. "

"The Moose is such a special place! The host Ashan is a wonderful man. I felt so welcomed and safe and taken care of my whole stay. Room was big, immaculately clean, hot shower. Owner was also always on hand for questions and helped out with taxis etc. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. Was sad to leave. "

"Absolutely loved this spot - amazing ocean views with a great swimming spot right outside. Accommodation is away from the hustle and bustle of Weligama but easy to reach via tuk tuk. Great spot for surfers looking to make the most of the local breaks up and down the coast."

"A hidden gem. The food at the roof top cafe/bar is amazing - breakfast, lunch and dinner all 10/10. Lovely atmosphere. Rooms are great, slightly basic but you don’t need anymore than you have. Really enjoyed our stay and would come back. "

"10/10 hotel. Would highly recommend to anyone. It’s so incredibly beautiful with such lush tropical vegetation throughout the whole hotel. The rooms are huge, beautifully presented with everything you need. The service is amazing, with such friendly and helpful staff at every corner of the hotel. Nothing is too much for anyone here! We came on our honeymoon and are leaving feeling like we want to revisit soon! The pools are really lovely also, and the beach (although rocky) is really nice. A very memorable special stay at this hotel!"
