"This place is fine if you plan to not be in your room much. It's not horrible, just okay. We had a nice view but unfortunately there was a larger family unit next to us so we had kids constantly running up and down and looking through our window which we tried to keep open to enjoy the view. Eventually we had to close it because those kids couldn't help themselves. They made the stay very noisy. Obviously not the hotel's fault but something you should consider if you are looking for a peaceful quiet stay. Check in was easy but early check in was not available. We were allowed to leave our luggage at the front desk which was nice. It was also nice to be able to text for help and the guy was super nice and responsive."

"I was amazed, first of all this was my first time in Catalina island and of course I didn’t know what to expect. I had seen good reviews about hotel Mac Rae and I was very surprised how cleaned this hotel is, the staff so friendly especially Maria she was above and beyond she answered my questions, also Gustavo was very friendly and welcoming plus they offer a continental breakfast 👍 I recommend it ❤️"

"The entire stay was wonderful from the second we were picked up from the ferry! (Which by the way is a great amenity especially since this hotel is a bit of a walk up hill from the main city street and all you have to do is call and tip). All staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very spacious! You can’t beat the views all around the hotel. Pool was relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and in the weekend had a waffle and omelet station that the chef cooked for us! Karl set up the outdoor fire pit for us which was lovely to sit by at night. We stayed in the colonial king suite and was perfect."
