"Heater was too small to heat the single glassed rooms , I went out for a meal and returned 2 hours later to a cold unit with a tv that didn’t work , so my pooches and I drove for a couple of hours and used a warmer option in another town . Grey place to stay all summer 🌺 long though."

"At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail). "Victorian Suite in the BNZ bank building was fantastic. Loved sleeping the 4-poster bed and soaking in the slipper bath. Relaxing having our own lounge area. Enjoyed both evening meals we had across at the hotel."

"Lake Brunner Longhouse far exceeded our expectations! The facilities are standard and the room and bathroom are not huge, but they are more than adequate and spotlessly clean. The location is wonderfully rural, but only a few minutes drive from Moana. The service from Lisa was outstanding - so friendly and accommodating.
