"Unfortunately I would say our experience wasn’t great. The balcony door was broken and when asked to have our room switched she told us not to worry it’s safe. Being that we were on a girls trip. We didn’t feel safe at all and the balcony was on the first floor. So people can easily just walk right it. That ruined the trip it self. The space it self was clean and huge. Very roomie but that situation didn’t allow us to sleep and we had put chairs and table by the door not that would have much but...

"This is an exceptional property. There is a lot of wood in the decor which some will find a bit dated but it is very well executed and spotless. It harks to a different era and does it very well. The food across all of its restaurants is of the highest standard and sets it apart from any other property in my 40yrs of travel. Of course the Michelin 2☆ is expensive but they executed a pop-up restaurant on the pier next to the Sea whilst we stayed which was flawless. The 2 Michelin recommended...

"Mooi verblijf, schoon, kamer ruim genoeg. Ontbijt prima! Restaurants allen op loop afstand en kan je er heerlijk eten. De mogelijkheid om ook in de oceaan te zwemmen is top!!! Wij hadden zeezicht. Locatie is niet ver van het vliegveld. Parkeren van onze huurauto was wel een dingetje, er zijn een beperkt aantal onbetaalde parkeerplaatsen (geel) , het merendeel is betaald parkeren (dag ca €7,50)"

"Excellent property right in the centre of Funchal. We stayed in the top floor apartment V, which had a lovely balcony that has a side view towards the see and sunshine from midday. The kitchen is full of all utensils and cleaning products. Tupperware came in handy to take on hikes with you. There are a couple of points to note. There is no lift so you need to make sure you can climb plenty of steps. The mattress is quite firm and the building carries the noise so you can hear a lot of things...

"We were forced to book this hotel last minute due to a cancelled flight and no other options. It was incredibly expensive and not worth the cost. The hotel is very old and outdated and the wifi does not work. We were able to check in late and the room was clean but I would not stay there again for that price. Definitely taking advantage of low inventory on the island"

"Perfect location, excellent staff, great food, spacious accommodation. Our first visit to Madeira but so many fellow guests were on repeat visits to this hotel, some on their 8th or 9th! It’s a relaxing place to stay and has really good entertainment every evening, so all in all a revisit seems very likely, thank you. Oh, and Madeira is stunning."
