"Lovely seaside retreat, perfect location and welcoming hosts. Breakfast was great and easy walking distance to the harbour. We had a harbour view room and the sunshine came through lovely late afternoon to enjoy whilst getting ready for the evening. Would highly recommend."

"A little gem. Had a fantastic weekend stay at The Smugglers. From the minute we checked in to the moment we left, the staff made us very welcome. The restaurant served superb steaks cooked on their charcoal grill. thank you Mark and Emily and all the staff. "Stayed 2 nights in twin room. The room was small ,however it had everything we needed. There was tea/ coffe/ hot chocolate available in the room that was replenished daily. The room was warm as we were top floor, but there was a fan provided which was very welcome. The bathroom was very small, and you may find a struggle if on larger size, however like rest of property was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and really good. "

"We were in room 1. It was immaculate, big comfy bed Fantastic shower, tea and coffee and a well stocked kitchen that was spotlessly clean. Alexa in kitchen to enjoy music if required. Access was easy and instructions regarding everything were in the folder in the room. Really enjoyed our stay would definitely stay again and recommend as well to family and friends."

"I had a fabulous stay at this hotel! The room was spacious, and the bed was enormous and incredibly comfortable; I had the best night's sleep. The view was spectacular, offering a perfect sight of the sea and the harbour inlet. The spa was top-notch, I highly recommend this option! I was delighted with the vegan menu, as it meant I didn't have to search for dining options elsewhere. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel."

"Gara Rock ist ein echter Kraftort – direkt an der Küste gelegen, absolut ruhig und abgeschieden mit einem atemberaubenden Blick. Die Lage ist spektakulär, perfekt zum Abschalten und Auftanken. Das gesamte Team war äußerst freundlich und hochmotiviert – der Service ließ keine Wünsche offen. Besonders begeistert hat mich die entspannte Massage – einfach himmlisch. Das Zimmer war wunderschön, sehr sauber und mit seinen hohen Decken wunderbar großzügig. Ein Ort, an den man definitiv zurückkehren...

"I found the hotel perfect for a short stay in Torquay. Only a 10 minute walk to the seafront and free parking just outside the entrance. I had a lovely cooked breakfast every morning with some extra treats. Really friendly place and I'm going back there in the summer. I'm using the hotel as a base to meet my friends who return to Torquay twice a year."

"The best way to describe the Great Western is with the two words, quaint and quirky! The house is in the middle of a massive re-vamp, but that did not impinge on my stay, which was short, but long enough to form a very positive opinion. My room was clearly re-purposed, with the en-suite bolted on, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom fittings were quite new and of a good standard.
