"Awful place, room was described as having an ensuite, the shower was in the bedroom with a toilet in a closet, mould and water damage directly outside the room, mould all over the room, when we told them we had to leave they still charged us for 2 nights when we didn't stay there at all and had booked it on the day"

"Amazing views, very lovely staff, easy parking, very clean and comfortably spacious rooms. Only thing to note is that if the bar / restaurant is open and music on, and it's summer and you have windows open, it can get a bit noisy on the top floor. We stayed Friday and sat night so that might also make a difference. Parents were in room on cliffside below the restaurant and was much quieter there. Five stars easily even with this!"

"It was a novel experience to stay in a converted jail. The breakfast was great and the service was overall very good. As a practical stay with two young kids I found the rooms to be on the small side (perhaps expected for a converted jail) and not so comfortable as a place to just unwind after a day of sightseeing. I would perhaps recommend it for a one night stay, just to try it out, but not for longer."

"As a first time ,solo traveller, I couldn't praise the wonderful staff at this beautiful hotel enough. They were all so friendly and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble , particularly in the restaurant and bar. The hotel has only been open a few weeks and there are still a few facilities not open but I will certainly return next year when the pool area etc should be complet. Thank you for a lovely stay"

"The hotel was very well situated on a pedestrianised street. WiFi was very good. Breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice. The staff are helpful. The only thing I thought missing from the room was a dressing table with a mirror & seat, but otherwise plenty of storage."

"We had a fabulous weekend break at the Great Western Hotel. The room looks to have been newly refurbished and was nicely decorated. Tea coffee in the room and complementary toiletries in the bathroom was a nice touch. The bed was really comfy and the room was cleaned each day. Breakfast choice in the morning was excellent and well cooked. Hot food made to order or continental if you prefer. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. "The hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly and very helpful suggesting places to visit during our stay. Our room was beautiful, with some lovely touches. We had a coffee maker and yummy biscuits in our room. We also had dry robes in the wardrobe to use at the beach over the road. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious as was dinner.
