"This was by far the most unique, amazing hotel we stayed at on the island of Crete. Upon arrival we were given fresh-squeezed lemonade made from their own lemon trees. The staff was so friendly! "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the hotel was in a perfect location just across from a lovely sandy beach with clear waters. Very peaceful & the hotel and grounds were well designed & maintained. Lots of shops, restaurants close by but we were happy as we'd chosen half board to eat at the hotel. On arrival Marianna was very welcoming & friendly & explained everything to us, we were taken to our room in a golf buggy which was nice. We had a bottle of wine on arrival in our room which was perfect. The room itself was not what I was expecting it had been refurbished but furniture was old & dated. The twin showers were very spacious but not private. This in my opinion was not 5* We luckily could move to a different room the next day in the afternoon they were full so we were happy to wait. I paid for an upgraded room which was very smart, nicely furnished &much nicer It was worth the extra."

"Crete is full of hidden gems and The Eliros Mare is definitely one of them. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday at this hotel. We think it’s the perfect balance of not too small but not too big either. The service is wonderful and the staff genuinely care and do their very best. They are also very good at remembering your preferences such as where you like to sit. We are never usually a fan of buffets for evening dinner but this one we visited many times as it was excellent. A huge range of quality fresh food. The hotel also allowed you to swap dinner for lunch if you were half bored which was great. We enjoyed the flexibility. The breakfast was equally great and the lunch. There were lovely gardens with beautiful flowers around the hotel. The beach was exceptionally lovely with plenty of chairs and parasols and the bar nearby. It was a very peaceful place to relax. We didn’t use the pool but it looked lovely. I also had a wonderful Massage We enjoyed many evenings sitting on the terrace and the hotel is very well located to visit other areas. We highly recommend this wonderful hotel if you want rest and relaxation as well as some good days out in Crete. Thank you."

"Lovely room and pool. Location is very convenient as there are many shops and restaurants around the corner, as well as the beach. Room was spotless every day, fresh towels and sheets after each clean. Staff were very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back. The only con to this hotel is the hair dryer. If you have thick, low-porosity hair, it will not work. I’d suggest bringing your own."
