The man who ported our bags up and down the steep steps was amazing! You need to make sure you can navigate steep steps if you stay here - it is a caldera and goes way down. "

"This property looks deceiving when you first pull up as you can’t really see the rooms beyond the foliage but it was a great room! Very spacious and clean. Only downside is it’s on a dirt road so the patio is a bit dusty but the staff do a pretty good job of keeping it clean. The location is walkable to many beaches and great restaurants, and a short drive to the airport. There is a great little bakery across the street for coffee and fresh croissants in the morning. Maria at the front desk is amazing! Our ferry got delayed a day and she was so helpful and accommodating that it ended up being no big deal. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return. "

"This hotel exceeded our expectations, In every single way. We've traveled and stayed in gorgeous properties around the world, and I can't have enough words to say how we feel when leaving this resort (today). The most unbelievable experience. The property, the room... the private pool in the room, what a treat! Two amazing restaurants at the property with stunning sunset views. Also, important - it's literally 5 minutes walk from the caldera's blue domes, but it's like a sanctuary, peaceful and serene and away from the noise and millions of tourists. Possibly THE BEST vacation/resort ever. So relaxing, you don't need to leave the property - other than for an hour to caldera of Oia, and then you can't wait to come back!!! Breakfast, dinner - amazing! Staff - smiling, genuine, making a point to make your experience magical and memorable. And they did. Amazing. Want to mention Anna, George, Vazha, Christos (both - morning and evening). Seriously, I feel like I am leaving the family and a piece of my heart here in Santorini. Service - top notch but so subtle and unintrusive, it is truly hard to describe... one must experience. We cannot wait to come back!!!! AMAZING in every way!!!! "

We learned while we were there that it took 20 years to build Calilo, and you can feel it in every detail. The whole property is full of artwork, hand-carved stone, and beautiful mosaics. It’s not just a hotel – it feels like you’re staying inside a gallery blended perfectly with nature. We travel quite frequently and this is arguably the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at. We received a complimentary room upgrade and loved it! It had a ‘pond’, which was really a private pool and a terrace overlooking the beach. Just gorgeous! The staff deserves a huge shoutout. Every single person we met was friendly, genuine, and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. From little surprises in the room to great tips about the island, it felt like they really cared about our experience. The bar manager and tender went above and beyond - even blending fresh mango just for our drinks! Calilo isn’t just a place to stay — it’s an experience.
