"It’s in the heart of the city. So many restaurants and shops. We felt very safe walking in the area. The beds were very firm, so if that matters to you, be aware. Check out early or you might find yourself stuck on your floor unable to get an elevator to stop for you. We were lucky to ride the freight elevator with our bellman so we didn’t miss our cruise check in. The Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar is a must if you’re staying in the area. "This is a tough review to write about. The neighborhood was dirty and in transition compared to other parts of the city. The attached dining area (bar) was substandard and yet, the Mexican restaurant across the street was excellent. Thankfully, Tim Hortons and a bodega were only a block away. Hotel staff members were pleasant, the room was comfortable and clean. Overall, nothing outstanding but we were glad to leave."

"You get way more for what you pay for at Moda. Walking distance from Yale Town, the heart of downtown and Stanley Park. Staff was excellent. It’s an older building, but was modernized quite nicely. Great breakfast, and restaurant inside, liquor store beside the hotel, Starbucks is a minute walk away. Read some reviews that it was noisy from street traffic, but it really isn’t if the window is closed."
