"Initially we were thrilled to stay here, as the pub manager showed us to our room, carried one of our suitcases and assured us that the waters & snacks would be replenished every day. "A lovely hotel just a stone’s throw from St Paul’s Cathedral, with an excellent selection of places to eat right on the doorstep. The room was small but perfectly normal for London, comfortable and well laid out to maximise the space. Breakfast was excellent, with loads of choice. The entrance was step free and the rooms were accessible. The aircon was excellent especially as London was in the midst of a heatwave! My only minor gripe was the bathroom’s sliding door, which was a bit stiff to open...

"Plausible time travel decor - ambience conjures late 18th, early 19th c origin of building (in fact very eclectic but why quibble). Room comfortable and nothing lacking. Was provided with french press coffee maker for coffee service in mornings, nice touch. Plumbing also a whiff of days long gone: claw-foot tub with brass handles and regulator."
