"The hotel was very comfortable and clean, and the hosts were very friendly and polite. They accommodated our every need. There was a wonderful balcony and small garden, where we could enjoy Mount Fuji and relax while enjoying a cup of coffee. The room also had a separate washing machine with dryer, which saved us the trouble of having to go elsewhere for laundry. "incredible stay - a highlight of our trip! Everything was very clean and looked brand new - the view of Mount Fuji from the bed was amazing. I loved that there was a fully equipped kitchen and you could use the stocked food/wine/coffee for a small fee, it meant we didn't have to leave! Recommending this place to all of my friends :) "

"The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. There were many options for breakfast and it was started promptly exactly on time. The facility was completely adequate and the room was nice and tidy. I thought it was a fun touch that in the rooms they have prints that are inspired by traditional Japanese fabric prints. They also have ones of that same series in the hallways in the ground floor. They have little QR codes next to them so you can learn about the original fabric prints. I also appreciate it that they had spiritual books from many different faiths in the hotel room. Including a book on Buddhist philosophy. I found it very refreshing to have such an inclusive collection of books for people from different faiths who might be visiting from around the world.
The communal spaces like the hallways looked like it had been a little while since a remodel. If you're someone who needs the most modern pristine Hotel you might not find this to be your favorite, but if you're like me and you care more about the staff and the convenience of the location and having an adequate room for very reasonable price then this was a great stay. I think some people who are more picky travelers might have complaints but I did not. I would definitely stay here again."
"This was a very luxurious hotel with amazing views of Mt. Fuji. The property was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly. The onsen was very clean and relaxing. You had everything and more available in the changeroom. Water stations were handy to fill up your water bottles.
The rooms were spacious and functional. Very quiet hotel for a great night's sleep."
Fuji Speedway Hotel - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt
10/10 Excellent
"The property is in MINT condition, great job to frontdesk, housekeeping, maintenance staff! The level of service at frontdesk was superb!
Minor issue we experienced was on first night when we requested late access to pool (20 minutes left we realized understand the importance of adhering to time / rules in Japan for when we have to leave the pool area) was requested and the "spa" staff seemed to be express concern over this. I would highly recommend that since Hyatt chain has a lot of international travellers, it may be best to post a sign to indicate the last admission time."
"We stayed one night at Kasuitei Ooya, and it turned out to be the highlight of our time in Japan. The ryokan gets the traditional experience right without it feeling staged — tatami rooms, yukata, and a real sense of care in everything. Our room had a lake view and a private bath, which our teenagers enjoyed as much as we did.
The kaiseki dinner was outstanding: beautifully presented course after course with local ingredients we didn't see anywhere else on the trip, and breakfast the next morning was just as good. The onsen is on the 7th floor, and the same floor has a viewing area where we caught the clearest Mt Fuji view of our stay at sunrise.
What tied it all together was the staff. From check-in through to the shuttle back to the station, they were warm, unhurried, and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we asked. If you're deciding whether to build a ryokan night into a Japan trip, this is the place to do it."
"The hotel was relatively modern, kept in good order and had a lovely rooftop deck. The staff were very kind and it was very convenient that they spoke English which I wasn't necessarily expecting. They didn't include many amenities in the room and there was no place to get amenities except at the front desk which was closed in the late evening and early morning. It would be nice if they maybe had a little amenities counter that they left out overnight because I didn't investigate which amenities were included in the room until after the desk was closed and then I needed some things that I couldn't get. I appreciate it that breakfast was included but there were very limited options that were preset and you had to schedule your meal time ahead of time which I found kind of stressful. But that might also just be a cultural difference. I think it would be more friendly to different dietary restrictions and perhaps less logistically difficult if they just had a few self service items people could course from. They were willing to accommodate my food issues which was appreciated. These are minor issues that were really more about my personal preference than anything else. It also did seem a little more pricey than other similar properties I stayed at in the area. Although the rooms were a little larger and the property was a little more updated. It's a lovely property and staff were great. Totally a fine place to stay in the area especially if you don't have my same preferences."
"We chose the hotel as we wanted to visit the Fuji-q highland theme park. It’s a perfect location for this, right next door.
Checkin was straight forward.
Room was nice and clean, good shower and toiletries. Room had a view into the theme park.
Ate breakfast and dinner in hotel, both were good. Lots of choice and reasonably priced.
The breakfast room had an excellent view of Mt Fuji on clear days.
The hotel also has a free bus outside to get to other locations. We used it to get to the lake and ropeway area. The bus took us to the station where we joined the hop on / off bus lines."
