Check in was smooth.
On entering the room, I was immediately concerned by the fact that the window was open and there was a stand up fan in the room.
Sure enough, it soon became apparent that the aircon in the room was not working.
I called reception, who said that there was nothing they could do. They couldn’t move us because the hotel was full and they couldn’t give a discount. They said that I could email management but they had up to 48 hours to reply. I then asked if there was a Duty Manager I could speak to.
Tamara called me and said that she could not give me a discount either and there were no other rooms to move us to. She offered us a complimentary drink in the bar.
We decided to unpack.
We then found hairs on the pillows, hairs on the towels in the bathroom, cobwebs around the room and no bottle opener to open the complimentary drinks.
We tried the tv. We couldn’t hear it over the sound of the fans. When we tried to turn the volume up on the tv, nothing happened.
Whilst sitting in the chair, my wife noticed rubbish under the bed - used tissue, a discarded pizza box, other rubbish, thick dust and an earring. It wasn’t hard to spot.
I called reception and asked Tamara to come up to the room to see the atrocious cleanliness. She took photos and retrieved the pizza box and the earring. The pizza box had old pizza in it!!!
One issue after another. Extremely disappointed. We’ll wait to see if the FOH Manager contacts me back after emailing him.
