"The bathroom was dirty, clearly had not been cleaned properly in some time, there was hair all over the floor, dirt build up around the shower tray and shower itself. Windows were also very dirty. The breakfast bag is not worth it as it’s not ready to go you have to wait 10mins for the hot part!"

"OK Lodge is just a name; what is is is a (nicely) extended and converted terraced house opposite a park; so now a few studio flats, with some common areas. Modern and clean but a couple of issues - like oven not even wired in; no table to eat off; and also whilst we booked for 3 adults and was confirmed; they called to say max was 2 adults & a child and would not refund the extra £50 for the 3rd adult (who couldn't now come of course) and I had to go through Expedia to get resolved. "Expected more from Holiday Inn. Hotel is very tired looking and needs a re-furb not just pretty paintings on the wall. There is a parking charge of £12 which I think is ridiculous-there is nowhere else to park your car so you have no choice. I expect it for City parking but this is Basildon!!! I booked thru Expedia and was advised breakfast included but apparently it was not. So far I’ve booked thru Expedia 3 times and twice I’ve been disappointed. Expedia you need to get your act together....

"The room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable, although the room was small, and if you ended up stuck inside, you’d quickly become claustrophobic. Likewise, the picture used to advertise the hotel is not a picture of any public or restaurant space in the hotel building, but a picture of the pub/restaurant 150 feet away. There is no public space you can hang out in within the hotel building. The price could not be beat, however. The fan for the bathroom was totally ineffective and...
