"I was a bit wary staying at a pub chain but any reservations (except that for my room) were quickly rendered moot when I entered the grounds. The property is set back from the main road with a good drive leading to several parking areas. After checking in I moved my car to the parking near the accommodation which was several buildings surrounding a courtyard area. "Quite a lot around the hotel car park was a bit if a pain to find cause you have to go all around to park at back & then not a lot of spaces also didn’t appreciate dogs being in the restaurant when we were having breakfast to me that shouldn’t be allowed especially with food very unhealthy "

"The setting of this BnB is absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was perfect nothing fancy just exactly what you need, we specifically enjoyed the homemade rhubarb compote! The room was part of a converted barn and really cosy. The host was lovely. "

"Had a really nice couple of nights, room was spacious, clean and ideal for a family. Staff were absolutely fantastic, friendly, courteous and helpful, credit to the resort and management. Breakfast had enough for everyone and a good selection of cooked and continental. We had one evening meal in the restaurant, couldn't fault the food or the service and very reasonably priced, we even stayed for the quiz! Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend and will hopefully visit...

"Stephen was a wonderful host showing us our room on arrival and explaining arrangements there. Room 3 was extremely well appointed with our own entrance and outdoor space. The small kitchen area included a microwave great for a cosy meal in. The continental breakfast was amazing and really set you up for the day. Set in quiet countryside outside Bideford with easy access to local attractions and exploring the countryside. A really relaxing break for us and would definitely recommend staying...

"We had previously eaten at this hotel and were so impressed that we decided pay another visit and stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was excellent. Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. We'll be back! "

"A lovely find hidden away off the main street. We only booked the room an hour before arriving but were made to feel very welcome by the young lady behind the bar. Breakfast was cooked by Phil and was delicious and he came out and had a lovely chat with us. I would highly recommend. "
