Excellent service in a great town

Highly recommend the Hotel Sunroute Niigata. It is convenient to the train station with many bars, parking options and restaurants nearby. Google translate the street parking lots if you don't use the hotel garage. Some have deals with the hotel where you pay a lower rate for overnight parking. I had great service from the hotel staff who helped me with figuring that out and saving a lot of money. We really enjoyed our visit to Niigata and Hotel Sunroute was the right place for us!

Non smoking room… I think not

We had 2 rooms. Both non smoking but one of the rooms absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. Unfortunately it was the room assigned to me and I suffer from asthma so I had a very difficult time breathing and sleeping was limited. Our other room had our children and it was not feasible to swap rooms. I do not know if we would consider going to siunroute again as it is very hot and miss with the rooms.

Miwako

当初2泊の予約をしていたが飛行機が欠航になったため1泊目を前夜にキャンセルしたせいか、チェックインの際に記録を探すのにスタッフの方が手間取り、時間がかかった。 キャンセル料は取られずありがたかった。 ただチェックイン時もチェックアウト時も、スタッフの笑顔がなく、無表情な感じだった。 部屋はとても清潔ではあるが、禁煙室なのにほのかにタバコの臭いがした。昭和のなごりか…？ 空調の調節が分かりにくく、ベッドサイドのダイヤル式のつまみとをオンにして壁のサーモスタットで温度を調整するという、昭和な感じの設備だった。 朝食ブュッフェは種類も多く、魚沼産のお米など新潟特産のものもあり、とても美味しく楽しめた。レストラン内のスタッフはテキパキして感じがよかった。 無料アメニティが豊富で、歯ブラシからメイク落とし、乳液、入浴剤にいたるまでフロント横で好きに持っていけたのは、ありがたかった。 立地や値段を考えると、泊まるだけならこんなもんかなとは思うが、あまりくつろげる雰囲気はないかなというのが正直な感想。
