Hotel Dekat Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre

"our stop was just a journey break on the way to London"

"Better than expected. Don’t write off these hotels. Way nicer than many upmarket properties out there."

"Really great stay, room was large warm and comfortable. Restaurant food was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful"

"Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was included and extremely enjoyable."

"Ample parking. Amazing breakfast. Great views"

"Good size bedroom, excellent breakfast, great staff"

"Great staff"

"Good value for money. Very busy over the last couple of days so it took over forty minutes to get our order taken for breakfast on Thursday - which came without the veggie sausage as stated on the menu. I would probably skip the breakfast in future."

"Beautiful grounds with lovely views of the wildlife in and around the lake. Very peaceful."

"The staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. The room was comfortable, clean and we slept very well. The spa was nice to relax in and worth paying the extra £20 per person for as you could use it all day. Breakfast was freshly cooked and they had gluten free toast ands croissants and the restaurant food was delicious with a good choice of gluten free options."

"This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August."

"The staff were very welcoming. The room was very tired."

"Fabulous staff, beautiful food, fantastic room. Top notch in every way! Can't wait to return ❤️"

"The room smelled badly of smoking. 🚬 staff were okay. Area was sketchy. Sorry but I can’t recommend this place."

"This is a mixed review. From the pictures given on expedia you are expecting a large hotel. It is not, it is a terraced house with multiple rooms in a run down area but having said that, the host was lovely, the property although needs work, is clean and tidy and very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the tea/coffee and biscuits were a very nice addition. It has a large smart TV which has a great reception. I was pleasantly surprised"
