The bedroom was clean and tidy, staff were excellent very polite and friendly.
The only slight criticism was the wooden chairs in the conservatory dinning room were uncomfortable. The food was outstanding.
Lovely building with great room. Good range of food at main meal times

Stayed for a couple of nights in a superior room. Great to have dedicated parking right by the hotel. Whilst the superior room was very big it was a bit rough around the edges and needs a bit of tlc. There was quite a strong smell of air freshener the whole time which was a bit stifling. But great location and food in the restaurant was nice. Bar staff super friendly!
Wonderful old in with lots of character and charm. Staff were all welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. Excellent stay in a historic town!
Very good Food the Chef was amazing

Staff very good and all ways had a smile and happy to anser Questons
Will happaly use the Restraunt again
great staff - thanks all
very busy village and i cant work out why as there is nothing of note here other than being right in Dartmoor
Great food and surprising as its a brewery hotel ( i think i'm correct in saying this)
Will stay there in future but will approach through the "main" road next time rather than the single track lanes !
Good service, good beer & wine, good food and great fire. Only down side was that our room (room 9) was right above the kitchen - noisy music, noisy extractor fans and constant noise of doors banging☹️.
Wonderful pub and accommodation. The people are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. This 16th century public house still supports many original features making its atmosphere charming. The room was fairly small, a double bed and the small wardrobe made it tight to get to the bathroom but it was very clean and comfortable. Street Parking is available in front of the pub for free but only from 6pm till 9am so you need to move the car at 9am. The food was good but pricier than either of the 2 public houses within staggering distance. Breakfast was well presented and good choices. The church across the road is beautiful inside, well worth a look.
We only stayed for one night but will definitely be back. Great pub with excellent atmosphere, service and food.
We stayed in a dog friendly room which had a disabled bathroom, this needs updating. Would be nice touch to put dog bowl, treats etc if you know a dog is coming.
Our room was very clean. The bed was comfortable.Every thing was in excellent condition. The staff were friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was excellent however it is strange to be charged extra for hot chocolate. However the noise from the extractor fan woke us around 6am. 😞
Lovely pub/hotel in very remote location. Didn’t realise you had to book parking onsite and ended up parking on car park up the road with no issues. Room was lovely and slept very well. Staff very welcoming on arrival and food on the evening was fantastic.
Only let down was the service in the morning at breakfast. No dairy alternatives available on buffet, you had to ask for them. Service was very poor, waited 15 minutes (there was only 3 of us in the breakfast room) before being asked if I wanted to order. Gossiping with work colleagues seemed more of a priority. When I finally got breakfast, it was the best porridge I had ever tasted!!!
