"I really enjoyed my stay at the Strathaven Hotel. Staff were wonderful and helpful (probably the best at any hotel I have stayed at). The room was clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable (I slept soundly!). The breakfast was included and there’s nothing like a Scottish breakfast! I will definitely return!! Well worth it!"

"Perfect location for night before travel. Not a good place if staying any longer. The restaurants and bar don’t take cash. An error on our dining bill resulted in us being overcharged nine pounds which is not easily or immediately reversed/corrected. Will see in a few days if the money is restored to our card or not. Seemed to be a complicated process for them to correct the error which does not inspire confidence. FYI - If you are a traveller who prefers cash for any reason you can walk over...

"Modern clean room with comfy beds,daughter and I had dinner in the restaurant and a bottle of wine we were able to take back to our room. Breakfast was great and being able to walk a short distance right into the airport terminal was unique. Very good value for the money"

"Horizon has excellent location close to beach. It is dog friendly which I love as have small dog. Food is fine and good breakfast. Prices are reasonable. Horizon one main issue is rooms and some furnishings in lounge area are now needing replaced. Rooms badly need refurbished. It is a wee gem and I wish they would attend to these issues as if so I would make onging visits to it."

"We stayed only one night but the room was perfect for our needs. Super clean, Comfy bed, hot shower, 5 minute walk to train station. Had a bit of a problem locking the door (had to turn handle UP) but no real issues. Also, owner was home to let us store luggage late morning before checkin."

Only couple of issues, I filled in online the “pre checkin” form to save time (hotels words not mine). But when I got to reception I had to complete it again. Iron in the room was all sticky too. Small issues, hotel was great"

"The room was spacious and clean. Having a restaurant and bar with good selection is a big plus considering that there aren't many options close by. Even without a car, the location is good since there is a bus station close to the hotel with direct service to Glasgow. The staff is very friendly and helpful."
