I stayed 3 nights and couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable and pleasant experience. The room was spacious with comfortable bed, good choices for breakfast, and the hosts Janet & Peter couldn’t have been any nicer or accommodating. I will definitely return when back in South Shields. Fantastic place to stay.

Fantastic three night stay at this lovely guest house. Room was extremely clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. As well as a well stocked tea/coffee tray there is a fridge and safe in the room. Owners were very friendly and more than happy to suggest sights to visit whilst I the area. Breakfast was tasty and a great start to the day.

Amazing place to stay

Highly recommend the owners where welcoming and friendly on arrival told where me all the local places to visit where. My room was very clean towels laid out nicely a nice little touch of some posh chocolates left on top. Good selection of tea and coffee as well as a bottle of fresh milk and even a cafetiere and some fresh ground coffee in the room which is a lovely little touch you dont get in chain hotels. Breakfast was really good loads of choice and cooked fresh. I would highly recommend you stay here i will definitely staying again.

Luxurious little touches

I loved my stay here. The room was great, and there were luxurious little touches everywhere - fresh milk and proper coffee in the room, handmade chocolates, crisp white linen on such a comfortable bed, and the and the biggest, fluffiest towels. Breakfast was superb - everything such high quality and a great choice. Janet and Peter were friendly, professional, helpful, and gave great suggestions about where to go in the local area.

Compact and comfortable

I arrived early and was made welcome to leave bags.. the room was very compact. But still was able to relax and enjoy the stay. The breakfast was very tasty. Helpful hosts suggested places to go.

What a really lovely and excellent B&B, stayed in a few in the area but this is by far the best one. Excellent spacious room with additional extra touches. Well worth a visit.

The room was a good size and very clean. Tea, coffee and fresh milk were provided in the room. Owners are friendly and very welcoming. I’ve stayed in various places in South Shields over the years and this was easily the best. Will definitely go back.

an enjoyable experience at the forest guest house

on arrival, we had a warm welcome by one of the owners. first impressions were of a warm friendly guest house. The room was clean and homely , en suite a little on the small side but did the job for the time we stayed. Breakfast was cooked fresh and to perfection in a spotless kitchen adjoined to the dining area so you could see exactly what was going on and also gave opportunity to have a conversation with the very sociable hosts peter and Janet. Location of the guest house was perfect for us, as it was just a short walk to the beach and also to a lovely park. it was close to an abundance of restaurants and bars, but not noisy. shops were just a short walk away. it was our first visit to south shields and have already talked about returning to the forest guest house. overall we had an enjoyable stay.

So so B&B

The location is great and central and the host are very nice and friendly. But i must point out that the cleaning of the room was appauling...bed made but shower and toilet not cleaned at all throighout our stay of 7 days.
